Mazewright privacy policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026 · About Mazewright

Mazewright is a single-player strategy game made by Echo, a software studio from Brčko, Bosnia & Herzegovina. This policy covers the game on Android and on every other platform it is released on.

In short

  • The game has no account or sign-in, and it never sells your data.
  • Only the Android version sends anything: crash reports and performance data, to Google's Firebase services, which process them for us. We use them to find and fix problems.
  • The Android version is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which collect data of their own: see Ads (Android) below. The game on other platforms shows no ads.

Crash reports (Android)

When the game crashes or runs into an error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics. A report holds:

  • what went wrong: the error and where in the game's code it happened;
  • what the game was doing: the screen, the level, the wave, the hero, the game mode, and a short log of the screens and levels before it;
  • your device: its model, its Android version, its free memory and storage, the graphics chip, and the game's version;
  • a random installation identifier, which counts how many players a problem hits. It isn't tied to you, your Google account or anything else on the phone.

Performance data (Android)

To see how well the game runs on each kind of phone, it sends measurements to Firebase Performance Monitoring. A measurement holds:

  • how long the game took to start, to open its menu and to load a level, and how long a level was played;
  • how smoothly it ran: how many frames it drew, how many were slow, how long they took, and the most memory the game used;
  • what the game was doing: the level, the game mode, the hero, the graphics renderer, and how the level ended (won, lost, left, or the app was put away);
  • your device and connection: its model, its Android version, the game's version, the mobile network operator and the connection type (for example Wi-Fi or 4G), and the country, which Firebase works out from your IP address;
  • how long the app was open, and in some sessions how much of the processor and memory it used;
  • a random installation identifier, as above.

To know how many measurements to send, Performance Monitoring also asks Firebase for its settings, sending your country and language codes, your time zone, your Android version and the game's identifiers.

Neither crash reports nor performance data hold your name, email, precise location, contacts, files or anything you type, and neither uses the advertising ID.

Ads (Android)

The Android version of Mazewright is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which Google runs:

  • a full-screen ad after each level you finish: it shows as you leave the results screen, before the next screen opens. Never during a level, and never when you leave a level from its pause menu;
  • a banner at the bottom of the main menu, which covers nothing;
  • a short video you may choose to watch, No ads for an hour, on the main menu: watched to its end, it turns every ad off for an hour. The game keeps the end of that hour in its own storage on your device.

What AdMob collects. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google: your device's IP address, from which Google estimates your approximate location; how you interact with ads (the app's launches, taps, video views); diagnostic information about the app's and the SDK's performance; and device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and the app set ID. It travels encrypted. Google uses this data as its own policy says, not only for us: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Your consent. In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and wherever else the law requires it, Google's consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) asks you, on the game's main menu and before any ad is requested, whether Google may use your data for personalised ads. Your choice decides whether the ads you see are personalised. Main menu → Sound → AD PRIVACY OPTIONS opens the form again whenever it applies to you.

Your choices. In Android's settings (Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads, depending on the device) you can reset or delete your advertising ID, after which no app can use it. No ads for an hour turns ads off for an hour; closing its video early gives nothing.

Permissions. For the ads, the Android version also has the advertising ID permission, which Android grants at install without asking.

How the data travels and how long it is kept

Crash reports and performance data go over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Google processes them for us, as a service provider, and deletes crash reports after 90 days, and performance data after 30 days for what is linked to an IP address and 60 days for the rest. The ads' data is Google's own, under its policy linked above.

To send it, the Android version has the internet and network-state permissions, which Android grants without asking. Apart from these and the ads, the game sends nothing over the internet. The game on other platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS, the web) collects nothing and shows no ads.

What stays on your device

Your campaign progress and your settings are saved only on your device, in the game's own storage. Nobody else can see them, the game never sends them anywhere, Android's cloud backup is turned off for them, and uninstalling the game deletes them.

Your choices

  • To limit what the ads collect, refuse personalised ads in Google's consent form or under AD PRIVACY OPTIONS, or reset your advertising ID, as Ads (Android) above says.
  • To stop crash reports, performance data and the ads, uninstall the game. What was already sent to Firebase is deleted after the times above; Google keeps the ads' data under its own policy.
  • To have the data from your device deleted sooner, use the form at the bottom of this page.

Children

Mazewright is not directed at children under 13, and neither are its ads. Crash reports and performance data hold nothing that identifies a player, children included.

Changes

If a future version changes any of this, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.

Questions about this policy: write to us through the contact form on this website.

Request data deletion

Ask us to delete the data Mazewright sent from your device. The game shows no name or account, so tell us your device and roughly when you played, and we will find it. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
